I'm trying to do a painting of the diving bell but can't remember the colors.
I was told that it was gray, but I recall that it was mostly yellow background and orange - red strips of sorts.
It may have been painted gray in it final days of oporation? please help

The "Diving Bell Ride" had several paint jobs over the years. When the park first opened the base tank was painted with a circus diamond pattern that connected it stylistically to the "Sea Circus Arena". There is a photo of this design in the brochure for the auction when the park closed. I am not sure what the colors were. Most of the time, that the ride was in operation, it was painted a gray blue. If you look in the Rippop giftshop, linked from the contents page, you will see a calendar that contains a painting of this ride that I created. I hope this helps?

There were several of these diving bell ride installations. San Francisco Playland had one, Catalina Island had one, Atlantic City Pier had one, Long Beach Pike had one, Coney Island had one. Color, I think they were all standard gray-blue. That's the way they came from the manufacturer.

Circa 1954, there was a Cameron Mitchell. Raymond Burr, Lee Marvin 3-D movie, Gorilla At Large, filmed at the Long Beach Pike. I bring it up because the movie was filmed in color and the Diving Bell was clearly featured in the film (although it was at night under artificial lighting). You might want to rent the movie and check the Diving Bell scene someday. Very Happy
